I’m He, Qing [贺清]

I’m a third-year Master of Architecture (M.Arch) student at the University of Pennsylvania, where I’m also a research assistant at Penn HCI, working with Danaé Metaxa on Human–Computer Interaction (Simulation for Architecture, LLM for Qualitative Coding).

Before Penn, I studied Computer Science and Finance at Renmin University of China. I previously conducted machine learning research at the NLPIR Lab, advised by Zhicheng Dou and Qiannan Zhu, and HCI research at Tsinghua University’s Pervasive HCI Lab, advised by Yuntao Wang.

I’m exploring in human–AI relationships

LLM for Qualitative Coding

We investigate how researchers use LLMs in qualitative analysis, exploring how AI shapes analytical reasoning, decision-making, and reliance through think-aloud studies..

Leading Project · Creativity support tools

Simulation for Architecture

We explore how AI-based stakeholder simulations can support human-centered architectural design. Through designer interviews and prototype development, we aim to inform future creativity support tools for architecture.

Leading Project · Generative agents · Agent-based simulation

Experience-Centered Spatial Simulation (ECSS) Framework

We introduce a generative-agent framework for simulating how different stakeholders perceive, interpret, and experience architectural spaces, exploring the potential of AI to model diverse human perspectives and dynamic spatial experiences.
